DAP’s public rally draws large crowd

KUCHING: More than 5,000 people showed up for the DAP’s Ubah Night, which was themed ‘Clear Governance: The Role Model of Malaysia’, at BDC carpark here on Sunday.

The gathering that lasted for almost four hours kicked off with the presentation of the song ‘Just Change’, which was followed by 11 speeches from Pakatan Rakyat (PR) leaders, both local and from Peninsular Malaysia.

KUCHING: The Barisan Nasional government may not be able to meet everyone’s expectations but it will always be ‘friends’ of the people and will always strive to keep all its promises.

SUPP secretary-general Prof Dr Sim Kui Hian, who stated this, said the BN had always been on working mode, unlike the opposition which only appeared during election time.


 

DAP sticks to Lim Su Kien for Miri

KUCHING: State DAP Central Executive Committee (CEC) is sticking to its decision in picking Senadin DAP branch chairperson Lim Su Kien as its candidate for Miri in the coming 13th general election.

State DAP secretary Chong Chieng Jen said a meeting held last Monday endorsed the nomination of Lim even though some members in Miri were unhappy with the decision.

KUCHING: Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Youth Central yesterday described Pakatan Rakyat’s (PR) ‘Buku Jingga’ as a “book of empty promises and a propaganda exercise” by the opposition to fish for votes.

That being their view, SUPP Youth chief Tan Kai urged the people to be wary of the book and properly evaluate its contents.

KUCHING: Poster pilihan raya tidak dibenarkan digantung di kawasan awam tanpa kebenaran terutama di luar tempoh pilihan raya.

Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri (ADUN) Tupong Datuk Daud Abdul Rahman bagaimanapun enggan meng-ulas panjang mengenai perkara ini dan meminta agar ia dirujuk kepada pihak berkuasa tempatan.
